ZTE Blade A72 Disassembly Guide: Full Teardown Step by Step

This is a full disassembly (teardown) guide for the ZTE Blade A72, based on the teardown reference. Use it to open the phone for a screen, battery, charging port or mainboard repair — the ZTE Blade A72 runs on the Unisoc T606 and secures its internals with 16 screws securing the upper bracket and speaker box. Work slowly around the ribbon cables (FPCs) and the 6000 mAh battery.

Tools you need

  • Anti-static gloves and an anti-static wrist strap
  • Tweezers
  • A small Phillips screwdriver
  • A plastic housing opening tool and a thin plastic card
  • SIM/microSD card tray eject tool
  • A heating table or heat source to soften the battery/cover adhesive

💡 Opening the phone breaks the anti-dismantle tag and voids the warranty. Check the warranty and waterproof tags before a warranty repair.

Disassembly steps

  1. Remove the card tray from the left side of the phone.
  2. Use the housing opening tool to separate the battery cover around the card tray area and slide the tool around the battery cover to unlock it from the front cover.
  3. Use a heating gun to heat the adhesive beneath the back camera. Take care to heat evenly for 8~12 seconds at 150 °C and 3~5 cm between the gun and the phone.
  4. Separate the battery cover and the front cover. NOTE: Because the fingerprint module is still connected to the battery cover and the mainboard, take care not to stretch or damage the fingerprint FPC.
  5. Push the fingerprint module inward to separate it from the battery cover.
  6. Remove the 16 screws securing the upper bracket and the SPK BOX.
  7. Remove the upper bracket.
  8. Unlock the SPK BOX from both sides to separate it from the front cover.
  9. Disconnect from the mainboard the fingerprint module, the SUBFPC, the battery, the touch panel FPC, and the RF cable.
  10. Lift and remove the mainboard from its lower right corner.
  11. Disconnect the RF cable and the SUBFPC from the sub-board.
  12. Unfasten the screw securing the sub-board.
  13. Remove the sub-board from the front cover.
  14. Heat the phone by putting it onto a heating table (with the screen facing down) for 3~5 minutes at 80 °C. Then use a slim plastic card to remove the battery.
  15. Remove the SUBFPC.
  16. Remove the vibrator.
  17. Remove the SPKFPC.
  18. Remove the receiver.
  19. Separate the SKFPC contacts from the front cover.
  20. Remove the SKFPC from the side of the front cover.
  21. Remove the FLASHFPC and the RCVFPC from the upper bracket.
  22. Remove the antenna spring from the SPK BOX.
  23. Disconnect and remove the 2 back cameras and the front camera from one side of the mainboard.
  24. Disconnect the main back camera module from the other side of the mainboard.

💡 After any disassembly that touches the rear cameras, run camera calibration (*#*#83788#*#*) so photos stay sharp.
