🔎 How to Find Your Phone Model Code and Chipset
Firmware must match your phone's exact model code and region — not just the marketing name. A "Smart 8" can be several different model codes (X6525, X6525B, ...), and each needs its own ROM. Here is how to find the exact code and chipset in under a minute.
⚠ Important. Never flash by marketing name alone. Confirm the model code AND, ideally, the region/build before downloading.
What you need
- Your phone (or its retail box)
Steps
- Check Settings › About phone. Open Settings › About phone (or About device) and read the "Model" / "Model number" field — that is your model code, e.g. X6525 or CN7c.
- Check the box or sticker. The retail box, the sticker under the battery, or the SIM-tray label also print the model code and often the region.
- Identify the chipset. Dial *#*#4636#*#* for phone info, or install a free CPU-identifier app, to see whether the chip is MediaTek, Unisoc or Qualcomm — this decides which flashing tool you use.
- Match it on ROM Palace. Search that exact model code on ROM Palace, open the model page, and download the firmware whose region/version matches your device.
Tips & troubleshooting
- Two phones with the same name but different model codes are NOT firmware-compatible.
